Laurie Rappeport, safed-home.com administrator, worked for 13 years at the Safed Tourist Information Center.
She left in 2013 to pursue other projects but retained her love of Safed and interest in helping visitors navigate the city -- geographically, spiritually and in a way that would allow visitors to find exactly what they're looking for in the city.
The website developed slowly, first with a page for Laurie's personal guestroom, then with listings of other guestrooms and accommodations in the city and finally with a full range of information about the city's history, sites, activities, artists, Shabbat, businesses, food, real estate, local contacts and so on. There is also extensive information about the yearly Safed Klezmer Festival which takes place each summer.
The Safed website is updated weekly. It is not a commercial website and all galleries, guestrooms and other businesses are listed for free as a service to the visitors who are interested in identifying specific needs and interests for their Tzfat visit.
