The Rappeports have been living in Safed for almost 30 years.
Laurie is originally from Detroit and made aliyah -- immigrated -- in 1983, settling in Safed in 1985. The Rappeports are one of the first English-speaking families to have settled in the Artist Quarter of Safed.
Laurie worked in Tzfat's Tourist Information Center for 13 years and is able to assist visitors in their Safed experience with many ideas and suggestions for exploring the city. The Safed-Home.com website is Laurie's site.
Laurie and her children live with their dogs, cat, tortoises and various visiting creatures in Tzfat's central Old City area. Laurie opened the Myrtle the Turtle kosher guest house of Safed in 2005 and enjoys having visitors stay at her Safed Tzimmer.
