Technical Details of the Klezmer Festival
The roads into Tzfat are close to non-city residents at approximately 17:00 and visitors park outside the city and take local buses into the city (paid parking and paid buses). Once in the city, visitors can walk around the lanes of the Old City/Artist Quarter and wander from stage to stage.
A word to the wise: Visitors who prefer to spend the night in Tsfat, or arrive earlier in the day and stay until the festival begins (approximately 9:00p.m.), can do so, and attend all of the performances with no required entry payment. HOWEVER, if you're coming in to spend the night in the city, or want to arrive early for the festival to avoid parking outside the city, you MUST arrive before 17:00 -- otherwise the roads will be blocked.
Public transportation generally operates on a regularly-scheduled basis, but it's a good idea to call the specific bus company and double-check.
